Hello and welcome! I’m Elizabeth, the creator of Iris Embodiment Center & your guide through this space.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher. I have worked in the professional mental health world for over a decade and have found a way to combine my clinical knowledge with somatic/embodiment practices (breath work, movement, sound techniques, etc).

I have found a passion for empowering individuals to utilize their own strengths and internal resources to overcome life’s challenges and its impacts on their lives.

This has led me to the world of holistic approaches including trauma-informed yoga. I began my yoga teaching journey in 2022, and in 2023 I felt led to create a space solely dedicated to sharing yoga and embodiment practices for healing.

The mission behind the passion involves two key components: accessibility and inclusiveness. I have chosen to share yoga practices online and in local community spaces in the hopes that many more people can have access to it. I also hope to share the message that you are deserving of connection and healing no matter your background, experiences, struggles, or current circumstances.

I have seen the transformational benefits of yoga and embodiment practices both professionally with my clients and personally for myself. I started my own healing journey with yoga and somatic therapy in 2018 and have been obsessed ever since. I am first and foremost a yoga student and work daily on my own mental health. I believe whole-heartedly that these practices hold the key to true, long-lasting relief from symptoms and am grateful for the opportunity to utilize them for myself and share them with you.

I invite you to explore my yoga offerings and would love to hear from you with any other questions!

Thank you for being here, and I wish you all of the happiness, peace, ease, and freedom on your journey.
